Not A Book Club
Friendship’s Not a Book Club is back! We emphasize building community and conversations around a monthly theme. The books listed will be utilized as a supplement to our conversations and we will share other resources with one another as well! We understand it can be hard to squeeze reading time in these days, so whether you’ve read the book all the way through or not, you’re invited and encouraged to attend the discussion!

Volunteer Training
This training session will prepare you to volunteer for all of Friendship’s programming, including our weekly meal and opportunities for Community Care! You will learn the culture at Friendship and how we work with our community, and then Chef Andrew and Pastor Shawna will offer two breakout groups, one for Kitchen Safety and one for Community Care as we build out our volunteer teams for warming/cooling hours, community gardening and community events.

NFAH is a grassroots community group supporting affordable, accessible housing on Chicago’s Northwest Side, and beyond. Friendship Community Place and Friendship Presbyterian Church join NFAH to work towards making our community more accessible, inclusive, vibrant, and compassionate. FPC is a founding member of NFAH. Northwest Side Queer Potluck
Together with community partners, we’re launching a Monthly NWSide Queer potluck for our LGBTQIA+ community! We will convene it at Friendship on the first Friday of each month. You are invited to bring a dish to share and to arrive exactly as you are. We will be inviting folks to sign up to help host each month which simply means committing to assisting with set-up/clean-up and providing an “anchor dish”! RSVP here!
